Thank you, to Kellen Moore and the rest of the East of Kensington team, for only re-affirming my love for J.M. Barrie’s tale of Peter Pan with your masterpiece of a short film!
Exploring this dark side of Peter Pan, was both stunning and heart-breaking, but breath-taking, all the same. All the sets and props were inspired and brought a lot of nostalgia, which had me tearing up on its own! The actors’ performances were so true and the whole thing was well written. I still find myself forever yearning for the magic and innocence of childhood and the story provides me with that escapism. Tying in ideas of the harsh realities of real life and a not so ‘happily ever after’ does shroud the story in a darkness not seen before, but has also brought to it, a new light, that I am sure Barrie would be proud of. Tragic and tear-jerking though it is, I have still been filled with all the delight I got from the story as a child. I don’t actually have anything bad to say, except that I wish it was longer (A futile thing to wish for a ‘short film’ - lol!)
I feel honoured to have helped support the production of the film and getting it to festivals and am so pleased this dvd copy was sent to me, as gift, with the lovely little note and the thimble kiss drive with extras.
I hope to see more great films from you all in the future, because Goodbyes are not forever. Good luck to all your future endeavours!
