How to make sure a child grows up with decent life values:

Send them to church.

Sit them in front of the television with Doctor Who on.

Sooo Im ignorant on it and I might like it,What’s Doctor Who,and Sherlock about?

bigbangfacts:

The actual shows. Im curious cause they are ALWAYS on my dash, and it looks interesting ^_^

Well..

Basically, Doctor Who is about an alien who travels through time and space in a 1950’s police box, which is bigger on the inside.
We call him The Doctor. He calls himself The Doctor too. That’s not his name though.
He’s several hundred years old, as far as we can tell. It gets a bit confusing. I’m not sure even he knows how old he is.

He doesn’t die, instead he regenerates. This consists of changing every cell in his body, so that he has a completely different appearance, dress sense and different personality. He’s done this eleven times now. But he’s still the same man.

He saves worlds and civilizations by defeating evil enemies and monsters.
One of these monsters is called a Dalek. They look a bit like a pepper pot, with an egg beater and toilet plunger, but they are downright scary. And sometimes adorable, when they’re not- you know, exterminating people. Actually they look like squid things with one eye. The pepper-pot get up is just its sort of shell. The Doctor seems to defeat these guys, but then they always find a way to somehow come back. Daleks just won’t die damn it! But we’re okay with that, because they’re the Daleks and we truly do love them.

He travels with companions, usually hot women from modern day London, but not always.

The show began in 1963 and continued out to 1989, where it hit a long silent period where it wasn’t on television, apart from a film in ‘96. Then in 2005 it came back, bigger and better than ever.

And right, Sherlock..

Sherlock is the story of Baker Street residing detective, Sherlock Holmes. Except this series is set in modern day London. Sherlock works as a consulting detective, which is a job both invented and his married to. Although some would argue he is more in love with his flat mate, John Watson, who was an army doctor in Iraq, but now lives at 221B Baker Street and works as both Sherlock’s sidekick, blogger and boyfriend. The police don’t like Sherlock, because he can deduct everything there is to know about a person with one look at them and ca solve cases as quick as pie. However, the police need him, because they only have puny little ordinary brains. Especially Anderson, in fact when he speaks, he lowers the IQ of the whole street.

Like Doctor Who, this is written by the same writer who is currently writing for Doctor Who. Is name is Steven Moffat. We hate him, because he trolls on all our minds and hearts untill we’re left in a rocking fetal position on the floor.

Moffat claims that while The Doctor’s character is a god, trying to be human. Sherlock is a human, trying to be god. So, in many ways this similar to Doctor Who, which is why Whovians and Sherlockians often come hand in hand and sometimes tie in their stories in the way of fan art and fan fiction. This is called “Wholock”. Those who seem to watch the show purely for the actor that plays Sherlock, Bendict Cumberbatch, often refer to themselves as “Cumberbitches”

Every time I listen to Chameleon Circuit’s “The Doctor is Dying”, I always think that instead of "Hold on now, not long to wait Till they bring back Gallifrey” it will go “Bring back Catherine Tate.”

I’ve been listening to “The Ballad of Russell and Julie” far too much. Or too much Chameleon Circuit. But, then again, I’m not sure that’s even possible.

And here you are listening to my obsessive Whovian ramblings. I love you.

So I was in the car today. And we passed a Church. And all the message board said was:

“Praise Him.”

The sign guy must have found his “room”…

(Yet another sign: Doctor Who has invaded my brain)

heh.
